Lies akin to treachery, says Pak Lah

By V.P. SUJATA

PUTRAJAYA: The allegations being spread to create an unsettled political atmosphere lately are tantamount to treachery, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

He said the allegations and news championing those who broke the law through SMS, blogs and YouTube were akin to treachery.

“These stories and SMS do not have any benefit. It is a deliberately attempt to create a negative perception (of the Government).

“This is not the doing of a race that wants to progress,” he said, hoping that the rakyat would not be influenced by it all.

“There is total disregard for the law and no one is giving importance to what is right and wrong any more,” he said, advising Malaysians to disregard all such attempts.

Unfortunately, however, he said that these allegations made interesting fodder for gossip.

Addressing staff of the Prime Minister’s Department at its monthly gathering here yesterday, Abdullah said he was also sad that the recent spate of events showed that the principles of the Rukunegara had been tarnished.

Abdullah assured Malaysians that the Government, which was given the mandate to rule in the last general election, had come up with various measures to reduce their financial burden due to the rising cost for fuel and goods.

Stating that peace had to be given priority, he added that enforcement agencies must continue to strictly perform their duty to help alleviate the people’s fear of food shortage and the safety of their family.

“The rakyat must be convinced to continue to progress and help develop the country and that this country is safe for all,” he said.

Later, speaking to reporters after holding bilateral talks with several leaders of the Developing Eight countries, Abdullah said he wanted bloggers to stop speculating and spreading rumours on the Internet.

“I want to tell the blogs to stop all this. They are also responsible for what has happened. The best thing they could do is to stop.”

Pak Lah, you are still missing the point. Remember March 8? You led-BN to its worst performance ever since and you blamed cyberworld especially bloggers for spreading lies. Now you are doing it again. You should  realise by now, BN failed to win 2/3 majority was because of the lies and deceits propagated by your party throughout the whole 4 years tenure. Please give credit to the rakyat who can differentiate right from wrong and truth from lies.

Even if BN has campaigned in cyberspace it would still lose many seats because the people are fed-up with the lies and corruption they hear. Here is a suggestion, send you UMNO cyber troopers to counter all the lies and deceits propagate by irresponsible bloggers🙂

“The people who resist change will be confronted by the growing number of people who see that better ways…are available thanks to technology.” – Bill Gates.

I wanted to compile a list of lies by Pak Lah and his government so I googled for it. Somebody already compiled the list, (well he compiled a list specifically on oil price), so I should just quote from the man himself – Matthias Chang and added some of other ‘lies’.

Oil Price

LIE NO. 1

The Star – 25th May 2008 Front Page

“There is more good news. There will be no hike in petrol prices at least until September, despite spiraling global crude oil prices. There were fears of a price increase, particularly after Indonesia raised fuel prices by 30% yesterday”.

LIE NO. 2

The Star – 6th June 2008 Page 8

“The decision to expedite the announcement of the increase in petrol and diesel prices was not an ‘afterthought’ but rather a need, said the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad. Admitting that the ministry had assured consumers recently that there would be no increase in fuel prices until August, Shahrir explained that the Government could no longer delay the decision.”

– Which is correct – September or August? Whatever, it was a lie!

LIE NO.3

The New Straits Times – 9th June 2008 Page 6

The current prices of petrol and diesel will be maintained until next March [2009] even if world oil prices touch US$200 (RM660) a barrel, said Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad”.

– When crude price reached US$80, the Government announced an increase in petrol prices. When it hit US$137 per barrel, the Government announced a hefty 40% hike amounting to an increase of RM 78 sen per litre of petrol and RM1 for diesel. Does this idiotic Minister think we are so stupid and naive to believe that when crude hits US$200 per barrel there will be no increase until March 2009?

LIE NO. 4

The Sun – 11th June 2008 Front Page

The price of fuel will stay for the rest of the year, the Cabinet decided yesterday. This is to allow people time to adjust to the situation”

The Star – 11th June 2008

PM: No more petrol price increases this year

– Once again, one idiot says March, 2009 the other idiot says the end of 2008. Who do you trust?

Gentleman’s agreement

LIE NO. 5

PM: There was no gentleman’s agreement between me and Mahathir

– Who is telling the truth? One must be lying, looking at Pak Lah’s track records, hmm.. not good.

Marriage

LIE NO. 6

THE STAR March 6, 2007 -PM: Reports that I’m remarried just rumours

KUALA LUMPUR Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said reports on the Internet that he had remarried were only “rumours”.

The Prime Minister, who was asked the question after attending the Bank Negara board of directors’ quarterly meeting Tuesday, said, “It’s just rumours, so only rumours, lah”

Bernama reported the ‘rumour’ here

Parliament dissolution

LIE NO. 7

The Star February 13, 2008 – Parliament won’t be dissolved today, says PM

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi put an end to such speculation, telling reporters here yesterday: “Esok tak ada (No, it won’t be tomorrow)”.

The Star February 13, 2008 – Parliament dissolved, elections on

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has announced that Parliament has been dissolved, paving the way for the 12th general election.

You are right indeed Pak Lah, lies akin to treachery. I totally agree with you. So now, would you explain these lies? Well, the best thing for you Pak Lah, is to listen to people or just step down.

Last but not least, here is something we can be sure about Pak Lah.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is a Loser. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi lost Penang to DAP. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also losing the trust and support in Penang.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also lost to regain power in Kelantan, and he lost too in Kedah, Perak, and Selangor.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi beginning to lose a lot in other states, such as Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and Perlis.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also losing the loyalty of UMNO members nationwide.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi losing the confidence in Barisan Nasional.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also losing the confidence of Malaysians in Malaysia.

*clap hand* Aye, aye…. What you say represent what most of the people in Malaysia feel well ‘cept for those dieheard blinded by loyalty. Bad-awi just kept on lying and lying to the point that he disgust me. How can he be a good leader when he kept on going back on his own word.

Did he lie because people lie? Or did people come to lie because he himself lies? By the way, telling people to stop blogging is akin to putting the cultural growth of Malaysia to a halt. Malaysia will lose out in the globalization race that way. Instead, they should consider a new curriculum of teaching people how to blog properly and effectively voice out your concern, e.g. not to use all caps, use proper punctuation marks, proper spacing, etc. Makes life easy for all readers.
I’m glad the paragraphs in this blog are well-structured, save those smileys which I personally hate.

  8. […] Before there will be an election, the Parliament has to be dissolved. With regard to the March 2008 election, it was announced that Pak Lah did not intend to dissolve the parliament in February. However, Abdullah Badawi changed his words at the very last minutes. See this: on 12 February 2008 he assured the public that he would not dissolve the parliament any time soon (and definitely not the day after), on the very next day he dissolved the parliament (some prefer to call that as a lie). 10. […] You have been acting as if Malaysia is yours. You do whatever you like as you please. You confuse the public by saying one thing at one time and doing another thing not long after. No, I am not going to list those here – every one is aware of that. Besides, many people have done that too (including this one). […]

  11. […] Why is it so? for those who have been following the news would know the obvious reason. When Pak Lah said he would not do something, he would do the exact opposite in very new future. He said he would not get married, the news of his marriage made public soon after. He said he would not dissolve the Parliament, the very next day he dissolved the Parliament. He said he would not revise the fuel price until September, within the same week he did. On the contrary, when he said he would revise the fuel price at the beginning of December, he did not do that. In short, he would not do what he said he would and he would do what he said he would not. You can see more of such incidents by clicking this link. […]
