Hamidah Osman, The Indian and The Snake!

Posted by ella-mae on February 10, 2009

Barisan Nasional ADUN from Sungei Rapat, Hamidah Osman was sworn in this morning as a Perak EXCO member.

Malaysian Insider had earlier reported Hamidah Osman was not too happy with Zambry’s appointment because she had great expectations to be the country’s first female Menteri Besar.

She was probably not made the MB because Hamidah Osman prefers a certain type of reptile more than some of her constituents.

Remember this???

Noooo…Hamidah Osman did not mean our Feather-Indian friend here…

Let’s reminisce together…

Hamidah says ‘sorry’ for racial slur – MalaysiaKini

Ahti Veeranggan | Jun 28, 08 6:55pm

Sungai Rapat state assemblyperson Hamidah Osman, who caused a furore in the Perak legislative assembly on Friday with her racial slur, has publicly apologised for hurting the Indian community.

At a packed press conference in the Ipoh Country Club this morning, the Barisan Nasional elected representative issued the public apology before newsmen, saying that it was not her intention to hurt the Indian community with a racial slur.

“I have already retracted my statement in the House and now, I am  offering my humble and sincere apology here to all Indians for uttering the racist remarks in the heat of the moment.

“I regret for saying that and promise not to repeat it anywhere anymore,” said a visibly moved Hamidah, who plans to embark on a ‘constituency road-show’ to explain and apologise over the incident to electorates in Gopeng, which encompasses Sungai Rapat.

Her apology came in the wake of several police reports lodged by Perak Indian-based public interests groups such as cultural-based organisation Ipoh Tamilar Tirunaal (ITT) organising committee, which has 30 Indian NGO affiliates.

Remarks spark furore

ITT advisor M Mathialagan, a lawyer, lodged the report condemning Hamidah’s racial slur and called upon her to openly apologise to all Indian Malaysians.

During a fiery state assembly meeting in Ipoh yesterday, Hamidah earned the wrath of Pakatan Rakyat assemblypersons when she asked whether speaker Sivakumar (an Indian) ‘agreed to disagree’ with a well-known fable of whether a snake or a man from a certain racial community should be killed first.

Her ‘un-assembly-like’ question sparked a furore, prompting Pakatan Rakyat elected representatives led by executive councillor Nga Kor Ming (DAP-Pantai Remis) to demand that she retracts her words.

However, Hamidah maintained her innocence and said she was merely asking if Sivakumar “agreed to disagree” with it.

The speaker who is also DAP Tronoh assemblyperson instead let her off the hook with a mere warning of “not to repeat such sensitive remarks.”

She later retracted her words.

Hamidah was roundly criticised by elected representatives and public interests groups from inside and outside Perak for uttering racist remarks in the House.

DAP Buntong state assemblyperson A Sivasubramaniam did not mince his words, labeling her “a racist upholding BN tradition of racial brand politics”.

“It is ungainly graceless for a people’s representative to utter such racist remarks against the speaker and his community,” he said.

Playing with fire

Sivasubramaniam also said Hamidah’s remarks was proof that BN, particularly Umno, had yet to accept its electoral defeat and conform to the reality that “a speaker of Indian origin was presiding the House”.

“She and Umno are playing with fire by hurting the racial sentiment of others,” he told Malaysiakini.

Meanwhile, Penang’s Datuk Keramat assemblyperson Jagdeep Singh Deo said the Perak assembly should have suspended Hamidah immediately and referred her to the Privileges Committee for disciplinary action.

Over the years, Jagdeep’s father, Bukit Gelugor MP Karpal Singh has had in several instances clashed with Barisan MPs in Parliament over similar racist remarks that implicitly portrayed “the Indian community as more venomous than a snake”.

The Penang assemblyperson said Hamidah’s racial slur clearly showed BN had not learnt its lessons from the last general election.

He suggested that another round of elections would remind the coalition that “its racial brand politics no longer appeals to the majority of Malaysians”.

However, a Perak government insider said Hamidah was not referred to the Privilege Committee because she was deliberately left to “suffer public condemnation”.

“She could have become an Umno ‘heroine’ and evaded public humiliation since she would gain ‘immunity’ if referred to the committee.

“The game plan worked to force Hamidah to come out and openly apologise to Indians in Perak and the country as well,” the insider said.

Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise: the newly (I still cannot believe MY SULTAN DID THIS) installed Perak state government does not have a single Indian rep.

So with this new (I still cannot believe MY SULTAN DID THIS) state government in place, Hamidah Osman can no longer threaten to beat up anyone from the ruling (I still cannot believe MY SULTAN DID THIS) coalition.

Or can she still?

Malaysia…….The Preferred Destination For All The Wrong Reasons……..

Posted by ErnieJean on December 11, 2008

Something’s just not right with Malaysia….can’t really put my finger on what’s wrong but one thing’s for certain, that there is more than meets the eye as far as our constant link to terrorist acts is concerned.
Remember JI terrorist Mas Selamat? He’s the one who made fools out of the Singaporean authorities by staging a successful escape bid from detention in Singapore. Where he is now, nobody knows. But rumours have it that while he may still be hiding in the forest areas of Singapore, he could also be attempting to get to Indonesia through Malaysia……….WHOOPEE!!! Malaysia gets a mention here!!!
Then there was the recent terrorist attack in Mumbai. Once again, our beloved country gets a mention here, as the terrorists had Malaysian credit cards and home addresses……deny as much as our Home Minister likes but the fact remains that those terrorists were comfortably familiar enough with our country…..I mean of all Asian countries, why pick Malaysian addresses?
And now, with no valid reason other than that he’s believed to have been rehabilitated enough, our authorities quietly releases one of the most dangerous terrorist in Asia (and a dozen more fellow JI-ians) back into the streets of Malaysia last month while harmless folks of Hindraf are still deemed security-threats…….WHAT STUPID LOGIC IS THAT!!!!

KUALA LUMPUR: Suspected Jemaah Islamiah terrorist Yazid Sufaat, who allegedly abetted and housed several terrorists involved in the September 2001 attacks in the United States, has been freed from Internal Security Act detention.

The rehabilitated JI terrorist?

The rehabilitated JI terrorist?

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said Yazid, 44, was released with another Malaysian, Sulaiman Suramin, on Nov 24.

“We released him as he had shown remorse and had repented,” he added. (Remorse? Repented? How certain are they? Bcos he constantly nods in agreement to every single statement the rehabilitators say? How sure are they that what goes on in his mind and heart is the same as what he professes through his mouth?)

“His release was conditional upon his reporting to the police from time to time and not leaving the state without prior permission from us.

“Our officers will also be monitoring him, as well as several others who had been released over the past years, to ensure they do not go back to their old ways,” Musa said. (Yes, our police officers are very well-known for their “diligent monitoring”)

It is learnt that the Government had over the past year released 17 suspected JI members, eight of them Indonesians.

Yazid, a biochemistry graduate from a US university, was detained in January 2002 and is said to have allowed his home to be used in early 2000 as a meeting place for al-Qaeda members planning the Sept 11, 2001, attacks in the United States.

Mind you, Yazid was not only a well-connected and well-trained JI member, but he was also a biochemist who had headed an Al-Qaeda anthrax programme on using the deadly biological agent for terror attacks. This is the sort of person who has already decided where his path will go……straight to “a heaven that is laden with virgins“………definitely not the sort who would be easily persuaded to go back onto the “right path” by some ustaz who couldn’t even out-debate Raja Petra.

No, this time it’s not about ISA…..I still believe that we should abolish this draconian law and everyone should get their day in court………rather it’s the way our law enforcers (who wouldn’t think twice about detaining the ordinary man on the street who happens to support Non-UMNO-friendly causes citing security concerns), determines (with prejudice?) “who stays” and “who goes“, based on very flimsy reasons.

Which brings me and a couple of friends to come up with this conspiracy theory of sorts………it may seem far-fetched but seriously, Malaysia’s been quite the frequent reference to these terrorists, don’t you think?

Could Malaysia be, sort of, “allowed” to be used as some sort of transit base for these terrorist networks, as long as they “guarantee” that Malaysia will never be the target of terrorist acts? Perhaps, some greasing of the palm took place too?

After all, what better decoy than a “peace-loving” nation that is all about smiles, great sunshine and imbecilic politicians? Perhaps, like what one commentator said on Malaysia-Today, just like MM2H (Malaysia, My 2nd Home), our ever innovative and “pro-active” authorities are thinking about starting a MMTH (Malaysia, My Terrorist Hub)?

And please, don’t even get me started on how the other non-desirable crime-based syndicates prefer to settle down in our country too.

What do you think?

Our National Security’s At Risk From……………..

Posted by ErnieJean on October 28, 2008

We’re living in dangerous times people…..very dangerous times indeed………
Nope, not talking about the ever increasing violent criminals roaming our streets unchecked……..that one is almost like part and parcel of our daily lives already………so, no sweat…..
I’m talking about the latest addition to the list of “Threats To National Security”, according to our BN government……
Introducing Malaysia’s latest Dangerous Citizens……….*drumroll*………………….
1) Folks wearing same coloured clothings who come in groups comprising more than 10. Be especially watchful of little harmless looking girls, for they could be “trojan horses”.
Orange colour donning folks are very seems......

Orange colour donning folks are very seems......

Also, how can the little girl be carried on the shoulder of a burly man!!??

It’s supposed to be a “privilege”, only accorded to the influential politicians. Didn’t they know that the “Richest-Unemployed-SIL” had to sacrifice so much and marry himself off to the daughter of a prominent politician, just so he gets to be “shoulder-hoisted”?
Tsk Tsk Tsk…….No Big, No Small.
And the Teddy bear…….what an insult!!! No sparkling and gleaming crystal-like bits, just plain ol’ soft toy………Our leaders “deserve” so much better lah……..
2) Bald old men, who inspire, who have no political ambitions, who write from the heart and who touches all Malaysian, regardless of race, religion or culture.
Bald Man in Black.......super duper dangerous indeed!!!

Bald Man in Black.......super duper dangerous indeed!!!

So, what’s deemed non-threatening?

I suppose, Malaysians of all walks of life should emulate the actions of those who have gotten the stamp of approval and endorsement from our BN leaders huh?

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting all things nice, that are deemed totally non-threatening (and if one feels threatened by them, then it’s one’s problem)……..*drumroll*…….

1) The National Hand Gesture For “Peace and Love”………..perhaps we can practise that in time for the next festive open house by the Prime Minister huh? Would definitely make his day ;D

See how happy that hand-sign made the man standing behind? It is indeed a "feel-good" gesture.......

See how happy that hand-sign made the man standing behind? It is indeed a "feel-good" gesture.....

2) This is called “Passion” people, not “rabid-like screaming of a Zombie wannabe”……..

Doesn't this make one have fell all nice and fluffy?

Doesn't this make one feel all nice and fluffy inside?

3) And would we ever forget this one…….we, Malaysians, are so “lucky” to have a government who believes in “Freedom of Speech”….doesn’t matter that it’s only for a certain group of people……so long such allowances are being given………

So don’t feel threatened by the wide open gap on the face, nor the saliva about to make its way onto the microphones, or even the sharp pokey looking object…….just feel the “Love For World Peace” vibes coming from the Mr. Big Nose here……….

For one with such a big mouth, he's gotta have a big heart too, right?

For one with such a big mouth, he should have a big heart too right?

Visit Me As Your Friend (Please?), Says Mr. “Outgoing” PM

Posted by ErnieJean on October 8, 2008

I’ve always looked forward to visiting friends during the festive season, be it at open houses or thru private invitations. After all, that’s usually the only time where we get to meet each others’ family members and catch up on what’s been happening with them, while wishing those celebrating the occasion well.

PUTRAJAYA: During a visit to the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) Hari Raya open house, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi reminded civil servants that open houses should be used as an opportunity to bond and appreciate friends.

“Open houses are not only for Hari Raya, but also other festivals like Deepavali, Christmas and Chinese New Year. It is to establish friendship without any (ulterior) motives.

“I hope there are no groups here who do not wish to celebrate Hari Raya, but have other intentions,” he said.

He was referring to the Hindraf supporters who came to the Hari Raya open house he and other ministers had hosted on Oct 1 at Putra World Trade Centre, where they asked him to repeal the Internal Security Act (ISA) and release the five Hindraf leaders held under it.

– The Star, Wednesday, 8 October 2008

Under normal circumstances, the above would seem like an awfully wise advice from a very wise old man…..(?).

I really hate to burst your bubble Mr. PM……but if you haven’t realised it yet, most visitors to UMNO/BN’s open houses have nothing but ulterior motives…….the FOOD and the MONEY PACKETS. You seriously think they wanna be your “F.R.I.E.N.D.S“!!?? (“Cronies” perhaps…cos I also want).

Doesn’t this just goes to show how terribly “unaware” he is of everything around him.

Anyway, try taking the “grub and RM” away next year and see if you can still achieve your 10K, 20K visitors to proclaim over the MSMs.

At least those termed as “trouble-makers” from Hindraf and Hartal ISA (somehow the MSMs seem to have forgotten about this other group led by Haris Ibrahim….wonder why?) had a more “honorable” ulterior motive……….all they wanted was to present T-shirts and memos to plea for the release of the wrongful detained decent citizens (while criminals continue to gleefully roam the streets).
It was just too bad the “bodyguards” in blue decided that the dressing code did not allow yellow and black Tees with “Abolish ISA” or “Hindraf” wordings.
Remember folks.....These are "No-NO"s at UMNO's open houses, yar?

Remember folks....These are "No-Nos" at certain open houses, yar?

Btw, do correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it a tad bit RUDE of the open house host to be hiding out with the “elite VVIP” crowd on the 4th Floor instead of mingling with the lesser mortals who should matter the most?

Samyvellu doesn’t want to miss the orgy!

Posted by barbie on July 28, 2008

Samyvellu, being a true attention seeker and narcisstic person he is, (it takes one to know one) does not to be left out of the fun. He is joining the orgy fest of secret discussions, the latest craze among power crazy politicians!

He shamelessly claimed that there were discussions among MIC and Hindraf youth leaders to which the latter outrightly rejected. The old goat (anyone is going to call me racist for me calling him a goat instead of snake?) must be delusional to make such claim,  when according to the ‘baffled’ Hindraf national event co-ordinator Kannan Ramasamy, it never exists.

Sunday July 27, 2008 MYT 6:46:03 PM
MIC, Hindraf in secret talks … NOT!

KUALA LUMPUR: The MIC says that it has been wooing the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) in secret discussions, but the group has rejected this claim outright.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said the party had been holding discussions with Hindraf youth leaders in Kedah, Perak and Selangor, which he said went well. He said the meetings went well as the Hindraf leaders realised that the MIC was also fighting to upgrade the living standards of the Indian community.

“Whatever happened in the past, especially in the March polls, is history. We must work together for the betterment of the community,” he said, claiming that some of the Hindraf leaders also regretted their decision to support the opposition.

Hindraf national event co-ordinator Kannan Ramasamy, when contacted, said he was baffled by Samy Velu’s claims as none of the movement’s 10 coordinators had met any MIC leaders.

“Hindraf does not have a membership roll. It is led by P. Waythamoorthy who is assisted by 10 coordinators and as far as I know, none of us had met anyone from the MIC,” added Kannan.

He said Hindraf has never regretted convincing the Indians to vote for the opposition in the 12th general election as the move had brought much improvement for the community in some parts of the country.

“We have noted that a lot of improvement has taken place for Indians in the five states led by the Pakatan Rakyat coalition since the election,” he said.

Hindraf national coordinator R.S Thanenthiran concurred and added the best thing that happened from supporting the opposition was the awareness created that Indians mattered in the country.

“For the first time ever, it has been made known to the minority Indians that they had the power to bring changes through the ballot box,” he added.

Both Thanenthiran and Kannan advised Samy Vellu to back off and concentrate on rebuilding the MIC.

Still, we cannot be too sure whether the ‘secret talks’ between MIC and Hindraf really happened especially after what transpired between PAS and UMNO. PAS before this vehemently denied any talks between the party and UMNO only to admit later there were discussions for the sake of ‘Malay unity and Islam’.

One thing is sure, both parties- UMNO and MIC have reached the stage where they are no longer quite relevant to the current political landscape in Malaysia.  Both parties are like sick cows, waiting to be flogged to death. Hence, it is not surprising they are looking for antidotes to prolonge their survival from the sure, slow, painful death. Death is definite, a friend of mine said this before and yes, for racial based parties like UMNO, MIC, and MCA the angel of death is knocking on their doors.

ps: Well, I damn hope the last paragraph is true. Say NO to racial based parties!
